Hey, it's Tom. A soaking fall storm brought damaging winds and heavy rain to Southern California this week. TELEMUNDO 52 in Los Angeles reports the National Weather Service investigated possible tornado damage to trees at a golf course in San Clemente on Thursday and ruled it out after a survey team from its San Diego office determined the winds were straight-line. The weather service said the damage report came in around noon and the area had seen active weather since Wednesday night. TELEMUNDO 52 in Los Angeles reports the same storm moved south from Oregon and spread rain across much of Southern California on Wednesday with about an inch falling in Santa Barbara County early that morning before the system pushed toward Ventura and Los Angeles counties with additional rain into Thursday.
