1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how MVP MGMT Expert, LLC collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use https://www.weather.wtf and its associated features.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (account details, location for the Weather Desk, communications, submissions, newsletter signups), information collected automatically (usage data, device/technical data, approximate IP location, cookies), public station post data from the X API, and, when a member chooses to connect them, posts from that member's own Instagram professional account or Facebook Page through Meta's official APIs (see below).

Sign in with Google, Facebook, X or email

If you choose Sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us. If you choose Sign in with Facebook (Facebook Login, operated by Meta), Facebook shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us; signing in this way does not give us your friends list, posts, or any other Facebook data, and we never post to Facebook for you. If you choose Sign in with X, X shares your name, username, profile picture, and email address (when your X account has one) with us. If you create an account with email and password, we store your email address and a securely hashed password (we never see or store your password in plain text) and send you emails to confirm your address and reset your password. We use this information only to create your weather.wtf member account and desk, sign you in, and show which account is signed in. We do not sell Google user data, and we do not share it with third parties except our authentication and database provider (Supabase), which processes it on our behalf, or as required by law. We do not use Google user data for advertising. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can delete your account and the data from any sign-in method (including the name, email address, and profile picture received from Facebook) at any time at https://www.weather.wtf/data-deletion, or by sending a request through our contact form; we delete it within 30 days. You can also remove weather.wtf from your Facebook account under Facebook Settings > Apps and Websites, which stops Facebook from sharing any further data with us.

Connected Instagram and Facebook Pages (Meta)

Members can choose to connect their own Instagram professional account (Instagram API with Instagram Login) or a Facebook Page they manage (Facebook Login for Business and the Pages API, operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.). The connection is read-only. We request only these permissions: instagram_business_basic for Instagram, and pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement and business_management for Facebook Pages (business_management only to find Pages owned through a Meta business account). With them we receive the account's ID, username or Page name, profile picture and bio, and its recent posts (photo or video thumbnail, caption, link and date). We use this data only to show that member's own posts on that member's own weather.wtf channel (where the member posts travel shows and weather shows), and only the posts the member switches on. A member's channel never shows anyone else's accounts. We never post, comment, or message on Instagram or Facebook for you, and we do not use this data for advertising or sell or share it.

The access key Meta gives us is stored encrypted on our servers and is never shown in your browser. Copied posts are refreshed about once a day and are deleted when you disconnect. You can disconnect at any time on your My channel page, or remove weather.wtf in Instagram (Settings, Website permissions, Apps and websites) or Facebook (Settings and privacy, Settings, Business integrations); Meta then tells us and we delete the access key and copied posts automatically. 3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to operate the Services, deliver localized weather news, communicate with users, review submissions, moderate content to a PG-13 standard (AI moderation flags content above PG-13 for human review before publication), analyze usage, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI foundation models.

Contest voting integrity: When you vote in a photo contest, we store a one-way, salted hash of your IP address (not the address itself) and your general device type (such as browser family, operating system, and whether it's a phone or computer) with your vote. We use this only to find and review duplicate or fraudulent votes. We don't use it for advertising or to track you across other sites, and we don't sell or share it.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information only with trusted service providers (such as Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database/auth, and HeyGen for video rendering) under strict data protection terms, or as required by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We plan to support Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals; until then, we honor opt-out requests sent through our contact form.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies and analytics/preference cookies with consent where required. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for operational or legal compliance purposes (e.g., account data deleted within 30 days of account deletion; unused submissions kept up to 12 months). Vote-integrity data (the hashed IP address and general device type stored with contest votes) is deleted within 90 days after the vote, unless we need it for an open fraud review or dispute, in which case we keep it only until that review ends.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and hashed passwords, to protect your information.

8. Your Privacy Rights

We extend comprehensive privacy rights (Access, Deletion, Correction, Opt-out of sale/sharing, and Appeals) to all U.S. users. To exercise your rights, send a request through our contact form and start it with "Privacy Request".

8A. Visitors in the EU, EEA, and UK

If you're in the EU, EEA, or UK, we process vote-integrity data based on our legitimate interest in keeping contests fair and preventing fraud (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To use these rights, send a request through our contact form and start it with "Privacy Request".

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. International Users

The Services are intended for users in the United States.
