Hey, it's Tom. Severe weather threats are on the rise across several parts of the country today. WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore in Baltimore reports that Friday is a Weather Alert Day for damaging wind, downpours, and a risk for tornadoes in Maryland. Strong storms are expected as the day unfolds. News10NBC in Rochester reports that a severe-warned storm is currently passing through Monroe County with wind gusts of fifty to sixty miles per hour as the main threat, and it will exit the region within the hour. WTVA 9 News in Columbus, Mississippi reports that a Fire Weather Warning, also called a Red Flag Warning, is in effect for the southern half of the area today from nine a.m. to eight p.m., and due to dry and breezy conditions burning is strongly discouraged across the entire region.
