Right now, ABC4 News in Salt Lake City reports: Newport Beach declared a local emergency on Friday, October 9, after overnight coastal flooding from Tropical Storm Rachel hit the Balboa Peninsula. The storm is heading for Utah, passing just west of St. George, where the eastern side can bring stronger winds, supercells, and small brief tornadoes. KESQ News Channel 3 in Palm Springs reports: Meanwhile, Hurricane Rachel is still making its way toward the Coachella Valley, with its impacts the focus this morning.
