Bio
Mike Penrod has spent 35 years working where technology meets hospitality and lifestyle brands. Since 1991 he has led the structural turnaround of the Elbo Room in Fort Lauderdale, preserving the 1938 landmark. In 1996 he engineered and launched the internet’s first commercial live stream from the Elbo Room, which reached about 2 million subscribers, roughly 20% of the active internet population at the time. He currently leads ElboOS, a media licensing engine that uses AI automation to scale legacy brand IP.
From 2005 to 2020 he was a co-founder and the operational architect of Nikki Beach’s global expansion, which grew a single Miami Beach club into more than 65 properties in 18 countries. He wrote the operations manual and training protocols used to onboard more than 150,000 employees worldwide.
In the early 2000s, Netscape founder Jim Clark recruited him to lead Seascape. In 2022 he was appointed Co-Chair of the Congressional Technical Working Group on Crypto, advising the U.S. House of Representatives on digital asset policy, identity theft prevention and blockchain infrastructure.
