Victorians are being told to prepare for another round of extreme weather.

Several fire bans have been activated ahead of hot and dry temperatures on Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to hit 38 degrees in Melbourne.

The scorching temperatures are set to make it the hottest day of 2024 so far.

Thunderstorms are predicted for Wednesday afternoon, as well as a risk of dry lightning.

  1. I enjoy days like this, "always entertaining to see how many braindead sheep will still wear a mask in this heat". And how many after proudly walking from a stifling underground car park will still be standing when they leave?

  2. The hottest day in 2023 was 40.5 on Feb 17. That was earlier and hotter than what we have experienced this year so in comparison its cooler than last year

  3. Why don’t we get subsidies for 12 volt appliances, batteries and solar panels ? Because once you purchase and establish your off grid power they have no control over it
