Tales of Glory

Most of my pictures of flowers are not ones that are on the ground… but this micro scene caught my eye. Having adorned a tropical flowering plant in southwestern Florida, these two beautiful flowers had been cast off… falling to the ground to wilt beneath the blistering sun. I found them early one morning while on a walk.

The high for the day was above the 90 degree mark and the weather service listed the UV index for that day as "extreme." These little beauties surely wilted not long after I took the shot and went the way of all of the earth.

I believe that these flowers are Frangipani–a small tree that comes from Central America.
