A Korean couple shoots a selfie near the Cheonjiyeon waterfalls, at Seogwipo, Jeju-do. In Korean the proper photo smile is captured while saying “Kimchi”, which is Korea’s national dish. It is a fermented side dish made of vegetables (mostly napa cabbage, radish, scallion, or cucumber), with more than 180 varieties determined by the main vegetable ingredients and the mix of seasoning used to flavor the kimchi (typically red chili pepper flakes (gochugaru)).
