The Cathedral was an imposing rock formation caused by sea erosion and wind throughout the centuries. Its concave shape was reminiscent of the domes of the cathedrals, and inside lived some marine cats or chingungos and seabirds. Considered a World Heritage Site, it was one of the natural images of Peru’s most photographed and disseminated. Its structure collapsed during the earthquake of 8 degrees on the Richter scale August 15, 2007 that was centered city Pisco. The remains of this figure are among the Yumaque and Supay beaches.
