National Moth Week

One of six images taken in Maine during National Moth Week, 2013. Four days & in various locations, I spotted Primrose Moths. Considering that the Evening Primrose plants weren’t particularly numerous, this seemed extraordinary to me & delightful! This is the second Primrose Moth I saw, this week, who was parched on the Evening Primrose plant, rather than inside a blossom. A naturalist friend suggested that she might be laying eggs! Seen on July 24, 2013 at Trout Brook Preserve in Alna, Maine, USA. I guess this photo made it into Explore.
