Colorado National Monument preserves one of the grand landscapes of the American West. Breathtaking views, towering monoliths, balanced rocks, and steep red-walled canyons exist within a vast plateau and canyon panorama. A fascinating landscape of deep canyons and soaring cliffs is located within the Monument’s 32 square miles. The park, a geological marvel, was carved by wind, water, and freezing / thawing over millions of years. The rock layers are nearly two billion years old — almost half the age of the Earth.
