  1. not the most efficient setup. my suggestion is to do the back outside stakes, then hold the front trek pole point and adjust until you create an equilateral triangle before staking out the pole then do the front corners, and finally the back center.

  2. Looks like it held up reasonably well, considering it was THAT windy. But i guess an ultralight tarp may perhaps be acceptable to bring (in addition to the tent) on longer hikes where such windy conditions are to be expected… Bugs should not be an issue in really windy conditions, and that dirt floor provides a lot more of that cozy "nature feeling" than a tent…
