2021: A year of extreme weather | COP26

From savage wildfires across Australia, California and Greece to flooding in Germany and unprecedented snow in Madrid, 2021 has been a year of weather extremes.

As world leaders meet in Glasgow for Cop26, the UN has warned that the planet is ‘changing before our eyes’ due to global warming. The past seven years are on track to be the warmest on record, based on data for the first nine months of this year according to the provisional WMO State of the Global Climate 2021 report.
